Do you ever have those days when you pack everything into them that you can, and then nothings goes as planned. Well that was my day yesterday and is having a ripple effect on today. Believe it or not it all started one evening in January of 2015. It had been a busy day in the office, we had just arrived home and visiting in the car for a few minutes before Lane & I went inside. Our cute Koda, a chcolate lab, came running out to greet us. Then Lane noticed she was leaving wet foot prints behind her. Not a good sign. We quickly went inside to find our front loader washing machine had opened during a cycle and didn't turn off the rest of the day. It flooded our upstairs and our downstairs. The anticipated evening of watching a little TV while we waited for our son and daughter-in-law to arrive was turned into a disastrous clean up.
To make a long (18 months long) story short, we ended doing alot of the work downstairs ourselves. That meant hanging 40 sheets of sheetrock, cutting 18 holes for lights in the sheetrock, I have no idea how many outlets and light sweitches we had to cut out, applying 30 gallons of mud and sanding it afterwards, priming and painting the walls and ceiling... the list felt like it went on forever. And of course, now we were up against a deadline for the insurance company, which turned out to be a blessing. It got us started. We ended up changing the deadline (carpet coming) several times. The last deadline was today, however yesterday morning we received a phone call asking if they could come then instead of today, so the last few things on the list we had to do yesterday before they could come.
However sitting on the couch last night we forgot all of the blood, sweat and tears and totally felt like we were on vacation. As we climbed into bed last night I told Lane, "Today is one of my life's highlights." It felt so satisfying, the sense of accomplishment made it all worth while. However the ripple effect of yesterday didn't allow me to finish getting my typical What Else Wednesday finished... stay tuned for pictures and What Else Wednesday next week.
HAPPY Mixing!

Had a grandson that almost took off his thunb with an axe. Haad to go to emergency room in Crosby. Everything OK bu 4 stiches and losing a thumbnail. We still able to fish and enjoy the holiday.
