Life has a way of teaching us that things don’t always go as planned, in fact that rarely do. Of this I was reminded of a few weeks back. Our daughter (the baby) has been away at college. I expected her to come home for the summer as she has in the past, however this year without much warning she decided she really wanted to stay for the summer. I was surprised and even felt a little sad. In fact I felt ripped off as I realized that my summer vacation from school was over. For some reason it is a little easier to sneak off and play when you have kids at home. Then I remembered I had fun before kids, and no reason I shouldn’t still, but I realized I needed a plan. It wouldn’t happen as easily without them there to push me on, but I do know that when life gives you lemons, make Lemonade.
Then I was reminded of 3 simple words and our new summer plan started to create itself. The vision a nd excitement started to build. With a little planning and thinking we can have another great summer.
Today’s Idea: Make some Lemonade using this NEW recipe, then grab some paper or print the Try New Things page (Best Ever Lemonade Recipe & Try New Things page found Here) sip some lemonade and make a list of things you want to do or try this summer. Anything goes... big, little, silly or serious, it’s time to start checking them off the list. Try a new recipe, read a new author or swing at the park. Each Turesday we will continue to give you ideas of new things to try or you can always use an idea off your list... just make a plan and do it.
And of course don’t forget to take pictures of what you’ve been up to... we all want to hear and see. Let’s inspire each other on to another great summer.
Each Wednesday we will post new ideas showing the amazingness you can create using MemoryMixer. Of course we want to see what amazingness you are creating!
Thursdays we will see you on Facebook at 8:30 pm mt for a scrappin’ good time. Each Thursday we will get to know ineresting and fun things about our designers, create a page inspired by sketches while exploring MemoryMixer features.

I love the carefree days(at least the thought of) spent with family & kids, the sun drenched days, the sprinkles of rain and maybe a thunderstorm or two, NO homework, BBQs... the list goes on, yet the days end too soon.
3 Things to Make this The Best Summer Ever!
1. Try something new!
Whether it's a new activity, a place to visit, a new park or recipe, you'll never know what might become a family favorite without trying new things.
2. Create a Summer Bucket List
We have been creating summer bucket lists for years now and I can't believe what a difference it has made. Now our summer days are sprinkled with things we actually want to do
3. Take Pictures
The only thing sweeter than a summer day is reliving them with pictures. I know it sounds silly, but it is easy to forget.
May you continue to Celebrate Everyday... for there is much to be thankful for. It has certainly been a year of blessings, memories and a few challenges sprinkled in.

Pepper Pot Day
According to the legend........... During the Revolutionary war, the Continental army was camped at Valley Forge. The winter was cold and harsh. Conditions were deplorable. Food was often scarce. George Washington asked his army's chef to prepare a meal for the army, that would both warm them, and boost their moral. The chef found scraps of tripe, small bits of meat and some peppercorn. He mixed this in with some other ingredients, and created Pepper Pot soup, also known as "Philadelphia Pepper Pot soup”. The hot, and somewhat spicy soup, was well received by the troops. It was called "the soup that won the war”.
