I wouldn’t have guessed that an invitation to go camping 9 years ago would be the start of some of our favorite family traditions.
My mom had recently passed away, our oldest had left for college leaving our 10 year old daughter the only child home. It seemed very little remained the same. Needing a breath of fresh air, literally, we accepted the invitation. A week in the tall pine trees (with flushing toilets), a cute town nearby, all nestled next to a beautiful lake. Today, 9 years later I’m sitting at our campsite with years of memories and traditions all because we decided to try something new. Our oldest, now married, and our daughter home for a week from college have joined us. We are all together creating new memories and keeping old traditions. Keeping traditions that will last for generations.
