Message in a Balloon...

Ever had a secret or a wish that you couldn't tell anybody...

Using the ‘Flags’ from the Loving You Party Pack Printables by Melissa Nuttall, we wrote out our secrets and wishes!  Feel free to use any paper and just cut your flags.  

We folded our secrets and wishes, and attached them to the balloons. At first we stapled them to the strings, but had to remove the staples and use tapes as the staples made it too heavy! We wanted our balloons to float away, not fall to the ground!  

Time for the big release! We went outside and got ready to let them go.

And there they go! They had a hard time floating away at first, but the wind finally picked them up and carried them away.

One of my favorite things about summer is spending time together as a family....even when things don't go as planned. Sometimes these become the best memories. 

 

 

Although this was the 3rd breakdown (2 trailer tire blowouts & 1 overheating) on the way home from vacation, this photo makes us all laugh everytime we see it.  At each breakdown spot we pulled out the mats and played games at the side of the freeway in the scorching sun.

Last minute Father's Day idea!!

Anyone still in need of a Father's Day gift?! 

Fill a jar with your dad's favorite treat wrapped in a candy wrapper you created in MemoryMixer.  You can also add a little circle messages to the bottom of a kiss.

The How to!

Candy Wrappers

The screenshots below show how to make the candy wrappers.

Open a new album in MemoryMixer and Start from Scratch.  Add a photo Box.

Change the size of the photo box to 3” H x 1 1/2" W.  Or the size of the candy you are wanting to wrap.  It is a good idea to make it a little larger, so they are easy to trim. 

Copy and Paste the photo box.

After you have added two additional backgrounds of your choice,

 

Drag them in to the Photo boxes.

 

 Copy and paste.

    

Add embellishments.  This embellishment is from the new Project 365 June Mini Pack.  Size the embellishment to fit your wrapper.

Copy and Paste the embellishment to the rest of the squares.

Click Print Setup in the lower left corner.

Change all margins to 0 and push ok. Then print as you normally would

After you have printed, cut out the candy wrappers and tape them on to your candies!

To make Kiss stickers...

I used the Love You Party Pack Printables by Melissa Nuttall. Once you print them, cut the circles that you would like to use and adhere them to your kisses. 

Jar Labels

Add another blank page to your album and type your quote using a cute font or combination of fonts.  Add a matching background and print the size of your jar.  Any jar works great, I used a canning jar my mom had around the house.

the best summer yet...

It's official at our house...summer is here!  School is out, the sun is shining and homemade popsicles are in the freezer.  In her teenage wisdom, my daughter announced, "this is going to be the best summer yet," and she whipped out her Summer Bucket List.  There were 93 items...from silly and creative to thoughtful and kind.  She went on to explain that she didn't want to look back at the end of the summer and wonder what happened.  Her enthusiasm and list inspired me...and thought it might inspire you and the teenagers (especially girls) around you.

Hi, I'm Nicole...let me introduce myself.

Before reading any further you should know that I am the most indecisive person in the world!

1. My favorite color changes almost daily, but as of today it is Light Teal/Tiffany Blue.
2. I seriously have 4,000 songs in my iTunes library, so trying to pick my favorite is super hard! One of my all time favorite songs is Life is Beautiful by Sixx: A.M.
3. I love dogs more than any other animal. My favorite breeds of dogs are a Husky and a Basset Hound.
4. If I could go on vacation anywhere in the world I would go on a month long tour of Europe, starting in England and Ending in Greece. In High School, my history teacher every year would take students on a European Trip and I always dreamed of going.
5. I was born on December 13, 1992 at 2:22 pm. I was full term but only weighed 5lbs 7 oz and almost had to stay in the NICU.
6. My life is so crazy busy that I never have time to sit and watch tv, but I make room in my busy schedule to watch America’s Next Top Model and Bones.
7. I am a Disney Movie fanatic! I own almost every Disney movie on VHS. My favorite Disney Movie is The Great Mouse Detective.
8. I am 5’5’’, which is one of the reasons I have an obsession with shoes. Wearing 5+ inch heels and feeling tall is one of my favorite things.
9. My favorite pizza is Margarita Pizza from Zak’s in Moab, Utah. It has Tomato slices topped with Mozzarella cheese and basil!
10. My favorite celebrities are: Actor: Channing Tatum and Chris Evans, Actress: Reese Witherspoon and Kate Hudson, Band member: Andy Glass (We Came as Romans).

12. About my Family: There are 4 of us in my family! I have my Mom and Dad, and one little brother. My brother is my best friend! We have so much fun together and he is the best brother in the world. I also have 4 animals: A Border Collie mix dog named Ryan, a Beagle mix dog named Boomer, a black and white cat named Domino, and a brown cat named Angel.
13. If I could have any super power it would be the ability to teleport to anyplace I want.
14. I have lots of best friends! I met Jessica in pre-school when we were 4 years old, Emily in 7^th grade, and Kathryn in 8^th grade. All though we all go to different schools now, we manage to stay connected and have fun when we are together.
15. My favorite ice cream flavor is New York Cheese Cake.
16. I have shoulder length Blonde hair with a dark brown under-layer, and Blue eyes.
17. My favorite restaurants are Apollo Burger in Bountiful, Zak’s in Moab, and Don Pedro’s in St George.
18. I am a Maxinista! I love shopping, but I never buy anything unless it is on sale. The most I have ever spent on an article of clothing is $100 for a pair of Boots. The purchase I am most proud of is a $120 pair of Paris Hilton shoes that I got for $10 at TJ Maxx.
19. I love watching crime shows like Bones, Criminal Minds, and Law and Order: SVU. My worst fear is having something happen to me like on the shows.
20. When I grow up, I want to do something involving American Sign Language. Currently I am a Sophomore in college majoring in ASL Interpreting, but exactly what I want to do with that degree, I don’t know. All I know is that I want to work in the Deaf Community and use ASL!
21. I love wearing high heels, spending all day curled up reading a good book, and going to my brother’s Lacrosse Games.
22. I dislike talking on the phone, spiders in all shapes and sizes, and people that spell and/or pronounce my last name wrong.
23. If I could have anything in the world it would be: 1. A brand new white Mazda 3 Touring Hatchback with black rims. 2. A pair of Christian Louboutin heels. 3. To be at least 2 inches taller.
24. My favorite band is currently blessthefall, but it changes every couple of days!
25. My favorite things to do in my spare time are: read a book cover to cover without stopping, cook tortilla soup, goof off with my brother, and plan my future life on Pinterest.
