12 Photo Ideas to Celebrate Mom

On the" twenty"th of each month we will po st "12" photo tips & ideas for your year in pictures.

As I was contemplating this month’s article for “a year in pictures”  (our project 365+1) my thoughts wandered through the upcoming days and month… stopping on Mother’s Day.  My heart is tender as I think about my mom and about being a mom myself.  My mom is no longer here, but oh how I love her and want my children to know and love her.  These photo ideas are reflections of the memories that flooded my mind.  

1. Her Portrait
2. Her love & kindness (this one will most likely be a candid shot)
3. Her hairdo, from the front and the back
4. Her hands, busy or resting
5. Her home, back & front
6. Her favorite or familiar shoes
7. Her favorite color as evidenced in her house or yard
8. Her favorite chair or piece of furniture
9. Her favorite or special dishes
10. Her hobbies
11. Her talents
12. Her handwriting (could be recipes, letters, to do list, etc)

The Challenge for each of us…. is to use this as inspiration to create a book about our moms, grandmas, and even ourselves.  It will be a priceless keepsake.

Here’s how to get started…

1. Decide how many pictures you want to use on your page.
2. Find a page builder that will hold that many photos.  Jayme Elggren’s designs are sold in kits according to how many photos will fit on each page making it easy to find a design you like.
3. Add your photos into the photo boxes.  Remember that if you don’t fill all the photo boxes with photos you can always fill them with paper or just delete them.
4. Delete the gray-shaded boxes and fill with additional backgrounds that you select.
5. Add your title and journaling.
6. Add embellishments as a final touch.

Notice how she has used the same design but she has created two totally different looks.
